ABOUT THE DESIGN
- The bowl is to be hand forged / or spun in silver. I will be collaborating / commissioning a silversmith in the manufacture of the bowl. The interior is to be gold-plated and the exterior very highly polished. This will sit on a champleve style enamel base, which is to be hand constructed. The individually fired enamels will form multiple sections and are to be riveted to the plate. The simplicity of the bowl is heightened as its ultimate purpose, and it's key element in the design, is the reflective surface of its exterior. It is the interplay of surface that is my main focus.
- I would like to make this piece as it would push me into developing larger works and it would take me into my next level of making and personal development. This design is dynamic in concept and I feel it would also push boundaries in terms of enamel aesthetics.
